PRINCETON, N.J.—Three Columbia golfers—senior Jennifer Wang (First Team), first-year Taylor Zeng (First Team), and sophomore Allison Paik (Second Team)—all earned All-Ivy League Women's Golf accolades, the conference office announced on Tuesday afternoon. It marks the fourth time in program history that Columbia placed three players on the All-Ivy League team.
Jennifer Wang
Wang becomes the fourth player in school history to earn First Team All-Ivy League honors for a second time in a career, joining Stevy Loy (2007 and 2008), Michelle Piyapattra (three times, 2011, 2012, 2014), and Jacqueline Chuyla (2015, 2017). Wang also garners Academic All-Ivy League honors for the second time in her career.
Wang registered her second career runner-up performance at the Ivy League Championship after shooting a five-over-par 76-69-76-221 this weekend. Her 221 ranks as the third-lowest 54-hole score overall in school history and she became the first player in school history to have two top-2 finishes in the Ivy League Championship. With her three-under-par 69 in Saturday's second round, Wang tied a school record for lowest round score and lowest round versus par (-3) in an Ivy League Championship.
The 2019 Ivy League runner-up, 2019 First Team All-Ivy League selection, and two-time WGCA All-America Scholar, Wang concludes the 2021-22 season with a 76.33 stroke average (1,832 strokes in 24 rounds), one top-5, three top-10, and six top-25 finishes. She also carded three par or under-par rounds on the year. Wang concludes her career ranked No. 4 in career stroke average at 76.09 behind Piyapattra (75.51), fellow senior Alexis Florio (75.90), and Chuyla (75.99). Her career-low is a 69, shot twice in 2021-22.
Taylor Zeng
Zeng becomes just the third first-year player in school history to earn First Team All-Ivy League honors. She finished the weekend with a six-over-par 72-76-74-222 and led the tournament in birdies with 10. Her best round came on Friday when she shot an Even 72. In 2021-22, Zeng led the Lions in stroke average (75.43), top-5 finishes (three), top-10 finishes (five), top-25 finishes (six), par/under-par tournament scores (one), and par/under-par rounds (five). Her top performances on the year included third place finishes at the Ivy League Championship, Wofford Low Country Intercollegiate, and Princeton Invitational.
Allison Paik
A Second Team honoree, Paik ended the Ivy League Championship tied for 10th place at nine-over-par 74-74-77-225. She concludes the 2021-22 season with a 78.27 stroke average (1,623 strokes in 2 rounds), three top-25 finishes, and one top-10 finish with a season-low round of 73.
On Sunday, Columbia concluded the three-day 2022 Ivy League Championship in second place with a 31-over-par 296-294-305-895 score, three strokes behind first-place Princeton.
It was a historical three-day performance for Columbia as the Lions set school records for best 54-hole score (895) and low 54-hole score vs. par (+31) in Ivy League Championship play. The 895 score ranks tied for the third best 54-hole score in school history. Wang and Zeng became the second duo in school history to both place among the top-5 at an Ivy League Women's Championship, joining Sara Ovadia and Stevy Loy, who finished 1-2 in the 2007 Ivy League Championship.
