Chateau de Valandraud is located in the Saint-Emilion region of France and is a well-known garage winery on the right bank of Bordeaux. It is ranked B-class of the Saint-Emilion-class first class winery. Almost no one knew about the Chateau de Valandraud more than a decade ago, but now the wine produced here is the most expensive wine in the Saint-Emilion region.

The history of the Chateau de Valandraud is inextricably linked to a couple who are passionate about wine, Jean-Luc Thunevin and Murielle Andraud. This couple, who had a tacit understanding of the wine, initially engaged in wine business in the Saint-Emilion region. After great success, they suddenly became eager to have a vineyard to make their own wine. So, in 1989, the couple bought a 0.6-hectare vineyard near Chateau Pavie Macquin and Chateau La Clotte, with the place name"Vallon de Fongaban" and the family name "Andraud" of the winery hostess are named after the winery.

In 1991, Chateau de Valandraud launched its first vintage. These wines are only 1,500 bottles. In 1995, Robert Parker scored higher for Valandrau than for Petrus. At the Christie’s wine auction in London, the 95-year-old Valandraud sold for more than Mouton Rothschild. Thus, the myth has since then, the price of the wine produced here has also soared.

瓦兰德鲁酒庄在酿酒过程中，每个环节都将传统和现代相结合。首先筛选出成熟度最好的葡萄。之后，将葡萄先放入两个敞口的酿酒容器中发酵，再在橡木桶中进行乳酸发酵，最后放入橡木桶陈年18个月。这里所用的橡木桶均为新橡木桶，且9个月更换一次。
In the winemaking process, Chateau de Valandraud combines tradition and modernity in every aspect. The grapes with the best maturity are first screened,after that，the grapes are first fermented in two open wine containers, then fermented in oak barrels and finally aged in oak barrels for 18 months. The oak barrels used are all new, and are replaced once every 9 months.

时至今日，酒庄一直坚守着品质，秉持着“不好的不要”的理念。2012年，瓦兰德鲁酒庄凭借出色的表现，在最新发布的圣埃美隆分级结果中，位列圣埃美隆列级一级特等酒庄B级。
