Golf has gradually got into the broad mass instead of being the elite sport.

早期，四大贵族运动包括网球、斯诺克、保龄球和高尔夫。随着前三类运动在国内的迅速普及与发展，作为“四大”之首的高尔夫运动，也正为国人所接受与肯定，脱下这“异化”的标签，回归大众的怀抱。从1984年中国内地第一家高尔夫球场——中山温泉高尔夫乡村俱乐部对外开放之日算起，中国内地高尔夫已经走过了33个年头。
Four Traditional Elite Sports include tennis, snooker, bowling and golf. With the popularization and development of the other three sports in China, golf, has also gradually got into the broad mass instead of being considered as an elite sport. It has been 33 years since 1984, the inauguration of Zhongshan Hotspring Golf Club, the first golf club in Chinese mainland.

这33个年头，中国内地高尔夫经历了前期的蛰伏与准备，然后在近几年内迅速上升，崭露头角。
Over the past 33 years, golf in Chinese mainland has overcome numerous obstacles in the preparatory stage and emerged as a standout in recent years.

男子 Men
2004年 | 张连伟参加第68届美国高尔夫名人赛，是中国内地高尔夫选手第一次参加大满贯赛；
In 2004, Zhang Lianwei partook the 68th USMASTERS, becoming the first Chinese mainland golfer in the Major.
2010年 | 梁文冲在PGA锦标赛创造了并列第八名的记录；
In 2010, Liang Wenchong set up a record as he achieved the 8th place in PGA Championship.
2012年 | 中国男子高尔夫国家队奥运之队正式成立；
In 2012, Chinese Olympic Men’s Golf Team was established.
2016年 | 陈子豪获得欧巡佛山公开赛第六的佳绩；
In 2016, Chen Zihao won the 6th place in Foshan Open, one of the European Tour.
2017年 | 李昊桐在高尔夫四大满贯之一英国公开赛上获得季军，冲进大满贯优先榜；
In 2017, Li Haotong won the 3rd place in British Open, one of the Majors, and emerged in the leaderboard.
2017年 | 窦泽成在威巡赛夺冠，成为首位获得美巡参赛资格的中国内地选手；
In 2017, Dou Zecheng championed the Web.com Tour, gaining the recognition of first Chinese mainland player eligible for the PGA Tour.
2017年 | 张新军成为窦泽成之后第二位晋级美巡赛的中国内地球员。
In 2017, Zhang Xinjun became the second Chinese Mainland player who acquired the PGA Tour Qualification.

女子 Women
2012年 | 冯珊珊斩获世界女子职业高尔夫球四大满贯赛第二项赛事LPGA 锦标赛冠军，成为中国第一位女子职业高尔夫球大满贯赛冠军得主；
In 2012, Feng Shanshan won the LPGA Championship, the second tournament of women’s Major.
2013年 | 中国女子高尔夫球奥运之队成立；
In 2013, Chinese Olympic Women’s Golf Team was inaugurated.
2016年 | 冯珊珊获得里约奥运会女子高尔夫球铜牌，成为首位赢得奥运高尔夫奖牌的中国人；
In 2016, Feng Shanshan was awarded the bronze medal of women’s golf in Rio Olympics, emerging as the first Chinese who achieved the Olympic golf medal.
2016年 | 林希妤在里约奥运会打出“一杆进洞”，成为历史上首位在奥运会赛场上打出一杆进洞的女球员；
In 2016, Janet Lin stroke a hole-in-one in Rio Olympics, being recognized as the first female golfer who scored hole-in-one at the Olympics.
2017年 | 鲁婉遥在日本女子职业高尔夫球巡回赛明治杯比赛中夺冠，成为第四位赢得女子日巡赛的中国内地球手……
In 2017, Lu Wanyao won the first place in Japan LPGA Championship Meiji Cup, marking her as the 4th Chinese mainland women golfer who championed in the Japan Tour.

截至2017年8月20日，世界男子高尔夫排名榜上进军前300名的有李昊桐（68），窦泽成（229），张新军（251），梁文冲（295）。吴阿顺、刘晏玮、张蕙麟、陈子豪、曹一等人也正在往前冲刺。
Untill August 20th, 2017, four Chinese mainland male players have successfully scaled the top 300 of the World Golf Ranking. They are Li Haotong (68), Dou Zecheng (229), Zhang Xinjun(251), and Liang Wenchong (295). Besides, other golfers are also striving to achieve better results, like Wu Ashun, Liu Yanwei, Zhang Huilin, Chen Zihao, Cao Yi.

男子高尔夫方面，年轻的球手如李昊桐、窦泽成、张新军等正冲刺大满贯赛事；而女子高尔夫方面，冯珊珊已经在世界高尔夫球坛上站稳脚跟，同时鲁婉瑶、林希妤等年轻女球员也在LPGA上勇往直前，代表着中国冉冉升起的希望。
As for men’s golf, young male players like Li Haotong, Dou Zecheng, Zhang Xinjun, etc. are fighting in Majors; while for women’s golf, Feng Shanshan has assured a place in the world golf, and other young female players like Lu Wanyao and Janet Lin, are walking ahead courageously on the road of LPGA. They, as rising stars, are the hope for Chinese golf.
中国职业高尔夫球员在世界比赛上的优异表现，让高尔夫成为公众热议的话题，在如此形势大好的高尔夫赛事背景下，高尔夫也在我们身边逐渐渗透，展现它回归体育的本质。
The excellent performance of Chinese professional golfers in world tournaments has make golf a phenomenon to the public. Under such optimistic circumstance, more and more people are familiar with golf and the beautiful essence of this unique sport.

球员不止要在心理上克服挑战，更要熟悉果岭的不同草种、风向和风力对球的影响、球场本身的设计特点与难易度。这么多外在因素限制是其他运动所没有的。
Golfers should overcome the psychological challenge as well as having knowledge about different turf species on the greens, the influence of different direction and wind speed, the features and difficulty level of golf course. So many considerations should be taken into account in golfing, which cannot be seen in other sports.
球手的每一次击球都充满着悬念。在小白球落地之前，永远没有人能确认结局，因为其间充满着变数。
You never know where the ball will fall after the drive, because there are too much unexpectation in the process of flying and rolling.

Comparing with the full-fledged golf industry in Western countries, China still needs to take steps to foster more golf talents. However, Chinese golf is booming and on the right track. Chinese young golfers are gaining attention from all over the world for their talents and good performances. Let’s make joint efforts to accelerate the development of Chinese golf!
